This is my entry for the Draw This Again Challenge Contest. I see a huge improvement! I realize that even though I still have a long journey ahead to improve, but this shows that the only way to go is up.
Two character concepts. Originally the vector was a self portrait in a Tim Burton style. Now in the recent painting, I was able to find my own way in 'style' and proceed to add the details needed to create a dress worth while. Very extravagant!
Below are the dates when the images were submitted.
Before: May 20, 2010 [link] After: September 17, 2012 [link]
There is so much more detail in the updated version that you cannot see in this form. Like the older version, please be sure to take a good look at the larger version of the image!
Thank you all for your support, comments, faves, critiques, and mostly love! You guys encourage me to keep on trucking and do my best.
Some chose pieces that were 5 years ago, I chose a piece from a reasonable amount of years ago. I think its also due to the signature on the final piece, when in the rules I wasn't supposed to have anything on it. I don't really understand why but, alright, fine. Yea, I'm a little distraught, but I'll just keep on trying working harder. Thanks you for the support
I'm certainly glad to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks of this factor. I personally thought was going to be a original art piece, but I see some that were fanart that made it past the first round. I love fanart, inspiring and all, but I don't think that shouldn't be acceptable. But that's just me, the contest did state that it can be a piece that the artist really enjoyed, so I have no say about that. Did you enter the contest too? O.O?
I did not I always meant to do the meme that this contest centered around, but I haven't actually gotten a chance to do so yet, and rarely enter contests anyways
I understand. I didn't do the meme until this past January just giving it a shot. It makes me more confident that I am improving. But, I rarely enter contests because I feel like I don't have the skill level to actually COMPETE. But....annnyway. I love the final piece and I am planning on doing this piece again in a couple of years.
Sadly I wasn't one of the 50 semi-finalists, but I'm happy with the fact that I improved and people are seeing it as well.
Thanks you for the support
